In 2017 I was invited to try out for the Ninja Warrior UK show on ITV. I received the call the day my father died. Understandably I wasn't especially interested in appearing on TV at that time.
The producers called back a week later and I had decided that I would use this as a distraction, and something positive to train for at an especially difficult time.
I trained every day for two weeks, and it gave me a focus and positive outlet for how I was feeling at that time. Completing the course, four weeks after my father passed away, gave me some degree of closure, and helped me move on and return to work.
In April 2018 my episode aired, and keeping with my track record on TV shows, I made it to the semi-finals.
