I had the absolute privilege of working on the UK’s first fully staged performance of Dead Man Walking at the ENO.
Hailed as one of the greatest operas of the 21st century, Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking combines the emotive story of a nun offering forgiveness and friendship to a convicted killer with powerful music and lyrics by award-winning playwright Terrence McNally.
Based on the best-selling 1993 book by Sister Helen Prejean, a American nun, Dead Man Walking, the opera, tells the story of Sister Helen and her work as a spiritual advisor to convicts on Death Row in the USA.

I worked alongside Director Annilese Miskimmon and Intimacy Co-Ordinator Imogen Knight at the ENO to direct the prologue of this powerful piece, as well as directing and co-ordinating further movement and physical feats throughout the opera.
This five-star reviewed opera has been one of the most powerful and moving pieces of theatre I have ever worked on, and the scenes I directed are some of my proudest work to date.
