After this production of The Marriage of Figaro was cancelled due to the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020, I was very pleased to see it come back in the 2024/25 ENO season.
This was a particularly interesting show to work on, I was required to train the performers not only in safe falling and landing techniques, but also train the ensemble in how to set up a prepared landing area, which they did on stage in full view of the audience every night.
The platform was over 3m high ad suspended by chains with no support underneath. Additional considerations needed to be made as the platform could swing.
The set looked stunning, and the stunts were performed flawlessly for the whole run.
