In 2018 the English National Opera staged its first-ever production of Porgy and Bess. This production, a co-production with the Metropolitan Opera and Dutch National Opera, was directed by James Robinson, conducted by John Wilson, and featured Eric Greene and Nicole Cabell in the titular roles.
As Fight Director on the show in both London and Amsterdam, I choreographed and set all physical violence in the show, including the Crown / Robbins fight which involved the entire company of close to 50 performers, and improvised weapons including a brick and a cotton hook.
One of my proudest moments as a creative professional was receiving a standing ovation, with the rest of the production team, from a full house of 1600 people after the opening night of Porgy and Bess at the Dutch National Opera.
